2. Could He Be The One?

Episode 2

COULD HE BE THE ONE?

Hello…. Rosa here…

So here’s the thing…

Before you meet Prince Charming, you might have to kiss a lot of frogs.

I’d been single for a couple of years. and fine with it. No muss. No fuss. I can do my own thing. Don’t have to answer to anyone. Life is good.

If I meet someone, I meet someone. If I don’t that’s ok too.

But then one day…. I notice this really cute guy at a party. He kinda makes my heart go pitter-patter.

Hmmm… maybe it’s time to rethink this single thing.

I ask my friends, “Is he single?”, holding my breath as I wait for the response.

YES!!! And he seems like a nice guy, I’m told.  Oh perfect!

As I glance over in his direction, I notice him looking at me. I turn my head to look at him and our eyes lock. Ah… I can feel the chemistry across the room. Oh! This is so nerve-wracking!

We both smile at the same time and I see him magically make his way towards me.

He holds out his hand and says “My name is Paul.” I put my hand in his and feel an amazing lightening bolt of electricity. “Oh. I’m Rosa.” I say, tingling all over.

Ooh! Wow! Wasn’t expecting this tonight.

For the rest of the evening, no-one else exists. We find a spot and talk the night away.

The party ends and we’re still talking. No! I don’t want this to be over.

He asks if he can call me and I say yes and give him my phone number.

First thing in the morning I can’t wait to share my excitement with my friends. Each has a different opinion. Some say he will call right away. Some say he will call in a few days. And some said he might not call at all.

So I keep myself busy trying not to think of him.

Two days later, I keep checking to make sure I didn’t miss his call but nope, no call. Three days… nothing… Four days… still waiting. Oh well, guess he’s not going to call after all. Five days… Bingo! HE CALLS!

We exchange the usual small talk and then he finally says, ‘sorry, I’ve been busy all week. Didn’t have a minute to call you.’

My response was, “Oh, I get it. I totally understand. I’ve been busy, too and seriously, I didn’t realize how quickly the week has gone by.” Trying to sound like I had barely given him a thought.

Then he says, “I know it’s last minute but how about we meet for dinner tonight.”

I wanted to shout out “Of course!” but I stopped myself from sounding too eager and just said, “Yeah, dinner is good.”

“Great!” he said, “I’ll pick you up at 6.30. See you then!”

So how did it go?  Read the next episode to find out...
